I am an incredibly passionate - bordering on geeky - fundraiser.
I work as a Fundraising Strategist at Blakely Inc., providing strategy to my clients on integrated direct response campaigns (mail, email, video, and beyond!), with a growing expertise in - and no shortage of passion for - mid-level giving.
Prior to joining the team at Blakely, I worked in educational fundraising - first, building a young alumni giving program at Trinity College School, and second, developing a mid-level giving program at my alma mater, Wilfrid Laurier University.
In my spare time, I like to cook, tweet, snuggle with my cats, and write for my blog www.whatgivesphilanthropy.com.
...Wally Lamb. My favourite book has been the same for 10+ years -- She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. I've read it 3-4 times and every time it gets under my skin... in a good way. Wally Lamb tells the protagonist's story in the most captivating way; I often have to shake myself when reading it and remind myself: I am not the character. When I finish it, I feel full... full of satisfaction, full of emotion, full of inspiration, full of hope. That's why Wally Lamb is my favourite storyteller.
I'll be presenting at the 2016 Nonprofit Storytelling Conference.
