The first thing people notice when they meet me is my passion for the positive. I help find a positive angle to most any fundraising challenge. My gift is to help nonprofit organizations communicate powerfully so they raise exponentially more money. I'm not your average speaker or trainer, my enthusiasm electrifies a room. I get people connecting with each other while they identify ways to increase their fundraising dollars.
I share easy-to-implement strategies and tools that will inspire even the most weary or overworked nonprofit staff. When I'm not speaking at conferences around the world, I work with nonprofit staff and board members to powerfully share their stories.
I'm a nationally-recognized master storyteller and fundraising culture change expert. I have more than 30 years’ experience helping nonprofit organizations raise nearly $300 million dollars from individual donors. And counting.
My favorite storyteller is...
...Rudy Perpich, Minnesota’s longest serving governor. I had the honor of working with him in 1989 and 1990 during his final year in office. He regularly shared stories of his childhood on the Minnesota Iron Range, stories of his travels, stories of people who inspired him from around the world and often shared stories of his parents and the voters of Minnesota. Governor Perpich didn’t learn to speak English until he was in grade school so at times his accent caused me to listen closely to catch his words. I loved listening to his stories and watching others be mesmerized by the tales he shared. He taught me the importance of honoring others by listening carefully and to share tiny details to bring a story to life.
